At Well Dressed Equestrian Inc., we work together to bring horse and rider to their full potential. Our client's aspirations are always kept in mind when reviewing lesson plans. We enjoy working with riders of all levels and believe that being an educated rider, while having fun, is the key to success! Minimum age requirement for riding is 6 years old.
Included in your hour lesson:
- learn how to tack up, and groom your own lesson horse
- riding time
- lastly, untack & re-groom the horse
Maintaining an emphasis on building a strong bond between horse and rider with a focus on equine care.
Riding Lesson Disciplines Offered: hunter, jumper, & pleasure riding.
ATTIRE – Riders must wear long pants and boots with a ¼’ heel. Helmet Rentals are available for the initial Assessment Lesson. After the Assessment Lesson, students are required to provide their own ASTM approved Horse Back Riding Helmet. Close fitting gloves are recommended while riding.
RIDER LEVELS EXPLANATION:
Level 1 - Introductory: Learn to walk: Suitable for those who haven't ridden before or have little experience. Rider is categorized in the introductory level until they have accomplished the following skill set: developed seat and leg position, steer independently, halt easily, and can ride basic figures such as a circle, and how to change direction.
Level 2 - Beginner: Learn to trot: Rider is confident at the walk and is ready to learn the trot. Rider is classified as beginner until they have accomplished the following skill set at the trot: ride basic figures, balance & overall position, posting diagonals, trot poles, two-point position, sitting trot and working towards the canter.
Level 3 – Novice: Learn to canter: Rider is confident at the trot and is ready to learn to canter. Rider is classified as a novice until they have accomplished the following skill set at the canter: ride a circle, accurately execute a canter upward and downward transition, and ride over canter poles.
Level 4 - Intermediate: Learn to jump: Rider is confident at the canter and is ready to learn to jump. Rider is classified as an intermediate until they have accomplished the following skill set accurately: trot a crossrail, canter a crossrail, canter small basic hunter crossrail course.
Level 5 - Advanced: Fine tune your skills: Rider is confidently jumping and is looking to improve upon their riding skills overall.
Ponies & Tots
Ages 4-8 years old
A program all about making a positive first experience between horse & child. Participants will learn to groom, basic horsemanship, and how to lead their pony friend through a pattern. This service is also available for onsite Birthday Parties - contact us for more info!
This class duration is 2 hours when 3 or more participants attend, and 1 hour when less than 3 participants attend. Maximum of 6 participants per class.
$50.00 + HST (pricing is for each individual participant)
